Starting 1555 with new engine

We are going to start the 1555 diesel for the 1st time tomorrow with the new engine so I know not to use any either to help it so how is the best way to get the fuel system full so it will crank right up? also the fuel stop cable, with the cable in turn fuel on or off? Thanks again.

BV, in my repair manual it says to open fuel tank shut off valve and remove plug from primary fuel filter and let fuel flow till all bubbles disappear then reinstall plug. Loosen bleed screw on final filter and let flow till bubble free fuel appears. My 1555 had only a glass fuel filter and had to have a pretty full tank to get fuel to gravity flow very well. Then it says to attempt to start engine and if fails to start loosen lines at injectors and bleed air from them by placing fuel stop in run position and cranking starting motor then tighten when bleeding is completed. Hope this helps . Greg

I just did a rebuilt injector pump on my 1655 (similar process). I also installed new fuel filters at the same time. Open the filter bleed plugs as stated until no bubbles. Then I left all lines loose at the injectors, push in the shut-off cable, and crank for 15-20 second cycles, wait 15-20 seconds, repeat. In short order, I had fuel at all injectors. I then tightened the lines with the most fuel present first. From turning on the fuel tank to running smooth took me about 20 minutes total.

Ok thanks my man, this tractor is new to me and I didn't know which way the cable needed to be to run.
