Local tractor here in Austin Mn. Has had a Mack motor for a VERY long time. And still does work every spring and fall. It is no slouch in the field either. Pic taken 9 26 14 , and it's ready to go.

Just a pick for fun.

She'd a real brute. I know where there's one close to home with the original 585 in it. The guy sold the farm, don't know what'll become of the tractor, unless he got rid of it and I didn't know.

I think you should buy it, be a nice addition to the Oliver collection. Could rake hay with it, as long as it doesn't spin out or lose power pulling the rake! LOL

I didn't want to say anything, but when I read his post about upgrading I was wondering what would you upgrade to when your used to maybe the best tractor ever made?

I've gotta admit, that 27 hour American 80 looked pretty good to me. A 1655 with a Cummins and a nice cab? How do you beat that?

Randy ,I was just looking at info on 2655 and said they were only made in 1971. If your neighbors is original I'd think it would be one of only few left. Serial numbers for 1971 go from 45600188-45600700. It has serial numbers listed for 1972 45600701- 45601190. Another weird Oliver serial number oxymoron! My neighbor who is a die hard Deere man used my White American last year to load round bales on his trailer and liked it.Greg

And a 6 cyl to get rid of the vibration.

White motors had a scaled down 2-135 rear end ready to go into production for the Americans. When New Idea took over with all their manure spreader building wisdom, they decided to use 15/16 based rear ends, and make one spur gear and one helical gear.
