1850 Oliver Transmission Problems

I recently bought an 1850 with transmission problems.I have 2 gears,4th and 6th when gear shifter in in neutral.I can shift into all the other gears but locks up.Took cover off transmission and all forks are in neutral.Top shaft not seized.What am I missing.Thanks Gary

Problem will be on the bottom shaft with I think the rear most gear. I had a 2255 that the front bearing went out and lost lube pressure to the pinion shaft. Replaced 6th/4th gear and the collar it rides on as well as bearings. Very labor intensive repair having to tear everything out and apart.

Neutral should be all gears disengaged.
The reason it locks up when you shift in an other gear is cause you are now are locked in 2 different gears at the same time.
I suggest you take the transmission cover off and look for the cause 4th and 6th are not moving when you shift the rails, possibly a loose fork or shifter block set screw
