Oliver plow question

Bought a two bottom three point Oliver plow for my
Super 55 this summer. Any ideas where I would find
the model number of the plow or where I should be
looking for it? It"s in fairly good shape. Would
like to know what model though. Thanks.

I'll see what I can do on a picture this weekend.
Any idea how to measure it? I know it's either a two
bottom 14" or a 16" but am not sure. Knowing that
would help in setting the plow up as half of that is
the dept in the ground. That is what I would need to
jack the side of the tractor up to adjust the plow
to the ground. Anyways I'll get a picture and post
it.

Ed, my plow is a 3241 3 bottom set at 14". Here is a pic. of how to measure it. Chuck

Ok after the weekend I found that I too have the 3241 plow and it is set up for 2 bottom 16". I didn't find out the way your showing me but did find the setup manual online that I used. It's nice to know that this plow could be setup for 12" 14" and 16" in two and three bottom. The 16" set up is to much for my ground with the super 55 so I am in the process of changing it to 2 14". Other than the bolts haven't been out in as many years the plow is old it isn't that much work.

I would say that from what I see on your picture yours is setup differently from the manual. If you want pm me and I will send you what I found if you want it. Good plow none the less.

Even my John Deere brother in law said it was a great plow. He doesn't say that very often so it has to be good.

Didn't have the camera with me Saturday when I was at the farm so no pictures. If time allows me I will get one posted.

Thanks, I have a manual. Mine is set up different because I pull it with a Oliver 77. The trip mechanisms are most likely seized on yours and will need to be taken apart and freed up, did mine this year and was no big deal. Saves a lot on points. So you think I have the spring trips not shear bolts on this plow? I don't have a manual for it other than that set up manual I found. I did use the plow when it was set up as 16" and it found rocks the other plow missed. I didn't hang up on any so that's good. However if they need to be looked at I better do it. Guy I bought it from had just changed the points on it before I bought it. Don't want to be breaking one of those and then be looking to find more.

I did complete changing the plow to be 14". There were a lot of nuts and bolts to remove. Thanks to that long bar and elbow grease the jobs done. I don't think the job of looking at those trips will be much of a job at all after this.

One thing I am surprised to know is they promoted this plow to be used for the super 44 as well. Guess set up as 12" no doubt. I have an Allis Chalmers B about the same size as that 44 and it couldn't pull this plow. Well unless it was on a trailer or something.

Sorry ran out of daylight before I remembered the camera and a picture. Be there tonight and will get one then.

Ed, If it's a 3241 does have the trip mech. You have to back up to reset it but that's better than changing points. You can get setting up, operating instructions and parts book,(all in one book) from the Floyd County Museum @641-228-1099. Where in N. Y. are you located? We are having a plow day on Oct. 18 near Sussex New Jersey, would be nice to have another Oliver there. Chuck
