540 Cockshutt 3 pt hitch help

I can seem to find a photo of the 3 point hitch for the 540 anywhere. I think it had an external piston, I am unsure if my valve is connected as well. If someone has one of these and could send me some photos of their setup I would really appreciate it.,

I have a couple pictures of a 550 which uses the same system as the 540. There are a few suttle differences like the draw bar, pump placement, seat mounting, and the lift links and draw arms are a little shorter. they also don't use the sway bar on the 540. what more specifically do you need to know? Why is problem with the valve? Irv

looks very similar to my set up for sure. I cant seem to figure out why the 3pt hitch lever didn't actuate the 2 hydraulic hoses

I am missing the piston, when I open the reservoir it still has the valve inside for the hitch, it does not seem to actually be hooked to anything tho( hydraulic lines)
I cant seem to figure out what/hot I would get power to the piston even if I replaced it. so maybe my question should be
where do the lines run to for the hitch piston?

here is the inside of my hydraulic reserviour. you will see the valve inside, but I don't see anything attached to it other than the control mechanism and what I think might be the draft control

you have what is called the servo valve which is used only for the 3 point. The oil actually enters and leaves the valve on the bottom side when valve is activated by using the handle on right. The oil passes through ports in the casting to the lines to move the hydraulic cylinder that should be mounted under left step just like you see in the pictures I posted. If you look at left rear corner of your unit you can see a 45 deg fitting that is connected to upper side of cylinder. On the front side there should be a steel line that changes to rubber that connects to bottom end of cylinder. you will not know these are working unless hooked up or you install a pressure gage to them. these valves are very sensitive and have several adjustments. If you are trying to attach any thing to the two ports on left side of housing they are not active. If you had the other valve that would mount where the flat plate is this would be used for axillary hoses for trailer attachments. You do not have it. I am headed to Canada a few days but if you need more help or pictures let me know and I will give you a number to call and we can talk about it. Where are you located. Irv

I live near Pembroke Ontario.

I see where that 90 degree part should be, it is currently plugged with a bolt head.
thanks so much for all the help guys. I may try to just put an extra valve on with ( power beyond) and operate the 3 pt hitch from it, since the piston is external anyways. What size piston was it to have?
