2150 over-under hydraul shift

when looking at my 2150 and the 1855's, the back end of the 3 speed is trunion on the 2150 and chain sprocket coupler on the 1855's. Don't know if these can be changed out without tearing down the whole unit.

Back in the day (early 70's) they had a "kit" to improve the over under units in the 20 & 2150 models. This included different clutch plates shafts, etc. You will need to do some research as probably most of those parts have been superceeded as ell.

An 1855 over/under could be easily changed over without tearing it completely apart. Input shaft, bell and overdrive housing would have to be changed. I'm not sure where ser# breaks are, but the helical cut on the input shaft I was told are different between earlier over/unders. A 2-135 over would work also, but the trunion mounts would have to be switched. I have a 1755 over/under in my 2-180 right now. I used the trunion mount from the 2-180 and a 2255 input shaft. I bought the tractor without one and couldn't find one reasonable $. The 1755 was a parts tractor we had. We use it sensably for the last 7 years without any issues on the chisel plow and some pulling.
