I found a couple Olivers, one I know is a 70 but the other has a wide front and no side shields so no model number showing. The tractors look similar but each one has a distributor on a different side, was that changed at some point? Also, where is the ser. # located at?? thanks!

there was a few different configurations of the continental used in the 70s. serial should be on the side of the engine block. its posible that the one could be an old style 88 but the trans/final drive wouldn't look any bit the same.

Early 70 tractors used an engine with 5 timing gears. Later engines used engines with 3 timing gears. The magnetos were on opposites sides of the engines. The serial number is on a plate attached to the engine block.
