1850 fluids

I think it's a good idea for me to change all the fluids on my new-to-me 1850. The book shows 10w30 engine oil above 32 degrees and 10w below 32 degrees. Trans and final drive shows SAE 80. Hydraulics show SAE 10w or ATF type A. Over/under hydraul-shift shows ATF type A.
I'm thinking about 15w40 for engine oil, hytran for trans & final drive and hydraulics, and maybe hytran for over/under. I guess ATF type A is OK too for the over/under but I think I read somewhere that White changed the spec to hytran. What do most of you guys use?

I'd leave the 80/90 in the transmission and rearend. Use Dexron or DexMerc combo in the Over/Under. Yes,they changed the larger tractors over to Hytran due to bearing failure from the ATF being too thin, but when I changed my 1850 over,it didn't work near as well.
15/40 engine oil works fine, that's what I run in mine.

Thanks for the quick reply. From what I understand the trans and rear end oil is pumped through the filter so I was a little worried about how thick 80/90 will be in the winter here in Wisconsin. Since you have had good luck using what you are I will do the same.

I have been doing the same as rrlund since the 1970s. Have had no premature failure or problems do to oil.
The transmission lube filters I buy have a bypass in them. So, no problem with lack of lubrication in the transmission.
I am in the Northeast with temperatures similar to yours.
When I was farming fulltime, I had more problems with the idiots I hired than the tractors.
