Got the A&I spindle, installed it with new bearings. Okay ready to go. Well, not quite. Had a couple of hdraulic hoses leaking. $100 later ready to go. Weeell, not quite. Tie rods touching front tires. Huh???? The stupid needle bearings under the frame in the steering mechanism are shot. Might's well start tearing er down tomorrow. Only good thing about it is that I have a garage to get out of the rain. Lol!

Ya,it never ends. I got the Over/Under back in the 2-135 Saturday and when I was putting the fan back on,I noticed the bearing in the water pump was about shot. I looked it up on the Agco parts book site, said there was a kit,so I called the dealer yesterday morning to see if she had one. NLA. Have to get a reman. I told her to have it drop shipped to me,fully expected it to be here today so I could bale hay with that tractor. It didn't show up. That just might be the first time ever that I didn't get an Agco part the next day. I had to bale with the 1850 again today.

Randy, that is not true about the 2-135 water pump rebuild kits, they're absolutely available. We keep a spare for the Herc's around all the time, have a couple more on the shelf that I need to get new seals in right now. Have them new from the dealer sitting here just haven't gotten it done.

I realize it"s too late for this exercise, but for future reference, here"s some water pump info that might be helpful for the 2-135 / 2-155 Herc"s. 1st pic is the service bulletin update info on impeller clearance, 2nd pic is a bad pump we"ve pulled that needs rebuilt, 3rd pic is a pump that I"ve started to rebuild (the sealed bearings are available from any bearing house, 4th pic is a dealer seal kit on the right and an experimental seal kit on the left that I"ve pieced together to test on a future pump.

It's always something with these old tractors. But look at the bright side,no computer to screw up like on some of the rr equipment we operate.I can usually repair or at least diagnose most mechanical problems but not that damn computer!
