Reverse o torque drain plug stuck

I want to drain the unit and get fresh oil in it. I tried to get the plug out of the rear of the unit this afternoon and it wouldn't budge. It takes a 7/16ths open end wrench on the plug and I couldn't move it at all. I got the handle from a hydraulic jack and slipped it over the wrench and still couldn't move it. Dare I heat the plug to try to get it to come loose or will that damage something inside the unit? I got the flywheel turned over and found the plug in the torque converter but haven't tried to get it out yet. Thanks, Chris

If it is a square pipe plug. They make a 8 point socket for that. That way you have 4 point of contact to turn the plug. Not two by using a wrench. I have Also taken a wrench and welded a peace of key stock to the open end. To make a stair drive wrinch. It keeps the wrinch from spreading. My 2 cents
