1855 wide drawbar support dowels

Four of them with 1/2x20 threads inside. How are they removed? Getting just ever so slightly frustrated trying to remove them.

Any help is appreciated.

Not familiar with the hitch you're talking about so... It's a dowel pin with internal threads? Those are made for a slide hammer to screw into (or something attatched to a slide hammer) and then use that to pop them out.

1/2 20 seems to be too large of a thread to be in a pull dowel unless it's something monster like bigger than 1" diameter.

Instead of a slide hammer you can use a piece of treaded rod screwed in the dowel and a piece of pipe long enough to accept the dowel length with a heavy washer over the open end and a nut on the rod to pull the dowel.

I'll try my bearing remover, it is designed like you speak of bison. I tried my slide hammer and ended up breaking the slide. So before I got to forceful I wanted to be sure I was on the correct track.

You can usually drive them further in the rear end
housing until they bottom out, then take a big pry
bar and pop the hitch frame up over them one side at
a time.
