Roosa pump leak

The Roosa pump on my indirect injection 1650 started leaking externally from where the throttle shaft enters the pump body. It leaks slowly both when running and not running unless I close the sediment valve. No fuel is leaking into the crankcase. Is this a common problem and something relatively easy to fix?

While it is possible to replace the O rings while on the tractor, it is best to reseal the complete pump. Other leaks usually show up soon after and it will need to come off anyway, at least that has been my experience.

It is common and easy to fix as long as there is clearance to pull the part of the shaft on the engine side of the pump. You need to be clean and careful not to drop foreign material in the pump with the top cover off, including parts. Seal kits for just the throttle shaft are available from any diesel shop. DT says the rest of the pump usually needs to be resealed, I have not found that to be the case in my experience. But it doesn"t hurt anything more than your wallet to go through a pump completely.

Thanks much...I also found a Youtube video illustrating the process. There is not enough room to pull the shut-off shaft but that side is not leaking at least for now so I think I can just fix the leaking throttle shaft and see how long I get.
