Hydraulic Oil Question

I need to change the hydraulic oil in the 2-62 backhoe. The book says it takes 25 gallon. Farm & Fleet has Universal Tractor Trans-Hydraulic Fluid for $39.99/5 gal. The have Milemaster 303 Hydraulic Fluid for $26.99/ 5 gal. I thought the 303 oil was John Deere's brand when the 4010's came out. Is there any reason I can't use the 303 oil in the hydraulics on the 2-62? For $65 bucks, I'm thinking about getting the 303 oil. Chris

You should be able to get the info from agco as its fairly newish haha. I use engine oil 10 w 30 in the older Oliver hydraulics. Probably doesn"t help you much but... Duane o.

O. K. what do you use for hydraulic oil in your other equipment? How much are you going to use it in the winter?

I use the Universal hydraulic/trans fluid in everything else. I know, keep all the oils the same. I don't think the 2-62 will see a lot of use, definitely not in the winter. Mostly as a loader and some fence rows to clean out. I don't think it's in good enough shape to go into business with, just for me to play around with at home. The hydro on the 6600 uses 303 oil, so I do keep a little around. I'm looking at how much I plan to use it, the oil leaks that need fixed versus the extra cost for the oil I normally use. Chris
