1850 Clutch Sticking

The clutch has started sticking on my 1850 diesel. I have to start it in gear and stand on the brakes and it will break free in about 5 or 6'. Never had this happen before. It's home for years is inside a metal arch building that is not well ventilated and it's never done this. I washed it good last Saturday, and every since, the clutch sticks when it sets overnite. Once it is free, it works like it should until it sets overnite. I don't have any work for it right now to run it for a few hours and get everything warmed up good to see if that helps. Any suggestions? Thanks, Chris
 
I don't know if it'll help you or not,but I've been having a heck of a time with that 7300 combine. I've come to the conclusion that they rust to the splines and won't slide away.
I was having to slow the variable speed all the way down then start it in gear. If I was lucky it would stop with the VS all the way down. About the second time or so that I stopped to unload I noticed that it would stop with the pedal half way down and start creeping if I pushed it all the way. By the end of the day,it was FINALLY stopping and shifting right without any grinding with the pedal all the way down.
So maybe if you just keep stopping and starting over and over it'll shine up the splines. Try the half way down thing and see what happens.
 
Until you can get it hot, try jamming the clutch pedal down between starts, so leaving the clutch disengaged?

The drain hole may be blocked, retaining water in the housing unnecessarily.

I checked under the bell housing to nite for a plugged drain hole, there wasn't any hole there. There is now, I drill a 3/16 hole thru it and about a 1/2 cup of water ran out. I let it set outside and run for a half hour or so, see if that helps. Chris
 
Forgot to add - beware if you go deep wading with the tractor. Maybe thread that drilled hole, for a plug if required?

I think my older Ollies have a drain hole - somewhere for any oil lost through the rear crank seal to be drained away after being thrown off the flywheel, I think.
