The serial numbers skipped around. The serial numbers were issued each week according to production scheduling. For example, they might reserve 80 numbers for 440's and the next 300 numbers for 1800's, etc. The next week they would start with the next set of numbers. With the serial numbers mixes in among different model tractors, it is hard to figure out how many of each were built.

When I get time I will try to look up the last number.

The last Oliver 440 built was serial number 122-542 built on or about July 12, 1962.

Thank you for the information. I'll send him this link. Does look like it on of the later ones built but no simple way to tell how late.

He has probably 6 or so S44s and 440s setting around counting the parts one he has. Don't know much about them since I grew up in a Farmall family. He has a parts 77 with cultivators and a really cool looking parts Standard 70. Really like that streamline styling of that Standard 70.
