Cockshutt 570 Super pump timing

I'm trying to find the timing specs for the injection pump on my 570 Super.A while ago after a pump rebuild,I timed it @ 25 degrees before TDC which is correct for the earlier 570 D with the 298 Hercules according to a manual I have.I've since seen another manual stating the timing should be @ 26 for the regular 570 D.After turning up the pump to a max of only 80 HP with lots of heavy black smoke on my Super,I suspect I may not have used the proper timing specs to get the most out of her.I've read close to 100 HP is possible with a good engine and fuel system.Mines all been over hauled so I believe it's as good as can be.Since I use the tractor only for pulling, max HP is what I'm after.Does anyone know what I should time this 570 SUPER at?Also would this DD339 have 18 to 1 compression like the earlier DD298 in the regular 570.I'm thinking of maybe adding a little turbo boost. Thanks for any info you can give.

I would start at 26 BTDC, make a dyno pull, then try 24 and 28 BTDC and see how it responds. The PSB pump is constant beginning, variable end of injection. Depending on what RPM you run you may not need much advance. I put a M100 IH pump on a 570 last summer, but could not check the power as the PTO was removed.
