Hello
I have a 80 model 2-85 with cab that needs a rear main seal and a clutch replaced that is slipping it's been a long time since I have had one of these apart. Is there any special tools I need to get this apart at the coupling and what do I have to remove? Seems to me that we had to remove fuel tank and radiator assembly to get the engine out. Also is there any tools needed for the rear main seal, thanks for any input. Jon

I hope somebody who knows will jump in and help you. I just pulled the engine and 3 speed out of my 2-135. There is a special tool that you have to build out of a piece of threaded rod and a pipe plug to hold the trunion coupler in that one. I believe the PTO shaft pulls out of the 2-85 though doesn't it? So I don't know if you'd need that tool.
On the 135 there was nothing to unbolt on the 3 speed, just the motor mounts. The 3 speed just has a big o-ring where the two pieces slide together. The back end has a big cast flange that bolts to the front of the transmission housing and that part stays with the tractor.
