1960 Oliver 1800 A with new rebuild on injection pump questi

I put on the new pump and primed the secondary filter with the hand pump. Fuel flows fine out of the top of the secondary filter. The fuel flows out of the timing sight window. However, I cannot seem to get fuel to the banjo fittings and to the fuel lines. I think it may the hand primer seals. Any other suggestions but that is all I can think of. It should fire right up. Help.

I would also crack the lines at the injectors and crank till a little fuel comes out.
I know a lot of guys on here are not to excited about using starting fluid. But, I use it if there is fuel to the injectors and still no start. Just do not over do it. Another thing if you can get an extra tractor and chain tow it to a start. Years ago when I did not use starting fluid we towed a lot of Olivers to a start hydrapower or O/U was no problem.

(quoted from post at 19:56:56 07/22/14) You have to have the engine cranking to get fuel to the high pressure fuel lines!

Mr. S.,

You are once again correct. I forgot to put down I have cranked it as well and still can not get the fuel to the start of the injector lines. Very puzzled. I will try again. It just feels like the priming plunger seal is not good enough so I am not getting a good prime so every part of the process after is not quite right. I have installed pumps and had no problem but this one seems odd and has me stumped so I feel like I have missed something. I will try again and thank you as always.

Cas,

I will give it another shot. I have done this before and maybe I am just being impatient and not giving enough time to get the fuel up. But, I have no fuel to the start of the lines yet. That is with the engine cranking as well. Sorry I omitted that. I will try again. My primer is what is bugging me the most and just does not feel right so I keep going back to it. I appreciate the help.

I would double the fuel shut off is on.
And, the throttle wide open. If that does not work, I wonder if the two plungers or something else is wrong in the injector pump.
I have a Roosamaster pump manual, I could scan and send. But, having it rebuilt might you might be heading back to the shop. Someone might chime in and mention the metering valve in the top of the pump being stuck. But that would be very unlikely.

I had to reseal one of those pumps a little over a year ago. I was able to get all the parts, BUT most of them had different part numbers and yes they can leak air and often do.
