Have an Oliver 1655 at the rear of the seat tracks there are no stops to keep the seat from coming out of the back. Is this normal and they just rely on spring loaded latching mechanism or are there suppose to be stops at the back of the seat tracks?

I just looked at a picture of my 1555 Oliver and it looks like it just has a 5/16 or 3/8 bolt and nut on the inside of the track. It looks like this one has been this way for quit awhile. Bandit

It's 1/2 x 1/2 x 1 1/4 inches with the corners rounded to fit the channel. Held in with a 1/4 x 5/8 thread forming screw. A piece of 1/2 inch key stock will work.
