Pulled the Over/Under with the engine this time

I wish I had pulled this whole thing out as one unit last year when I put a clutch in it. The Over/Under had to come out this time to have it rebuilt so I took it all out together. I'll never in a million years tell you it was easy, but compared to pulling the engine alone,it sure was "easier". When I took just the engine,I had to take off the front pulley and take out the steering cylinder, but everything cleared this time. I'm glad I read everything over a few times and looked real good at the schematics, because I thought that round cast flange part had to be unbolted from the front of the transmission. It was a huge load off my mind when I found out it didn't even come out with the whole unit.
It's not going to be any picnic to put back in,but at least it's out. That unit's going to the dealer Monday morning. I'll pay the long dollar to get it right the first time before I'll go through this job again.

At least it looks like you have the perfect place to work on it. What kind of shade tree is that? That looks like where I do my best work, unless it is below zero or knee deep in snow.

Good job on getting it out. Did you lift it out with the 1365-4wd.
One thing when your putting it in watch the o-ring on the collar around transmission input end.
I pinched it one time and just a little slice off it and you have a major leak. It usually only happens to a guy only once. Now when I do one I use a jack to level it, have have a good light ower it, and somebody that has a good eye helping.
If you do not mind, would be interested on what the reapair bill is.

Ya,I got it out with the 1365. It was all it wanted to do to lift it. When I took it out with it last year of course, the 3 speed wasn't on it and it still worked it for all it was worth. I don't know about putting it back in. I might have to use the 1600 to help get it high enough, then get it out of the way and drive in with the 1365.
Last time,I got it set down best I could, unhooked, reloacated so I was just lifting the front, then used the cherry picker on the back to guide it in with a little more precision.
I thought I'd grease that o-ring good when I slip it back together.
