1600 head repair?

Never saw this before! What do you think happened? Head is off of an early 1600 utility. Engine serial number is 35120. Gas engine. What kind or pistons are these? Bore is 3 7/8. Piston looks like it has been repaired and then ground smooth. Engine ran good and had good power. Smoked blue and would fowl #2 plug in about 3 hours. Head repair is on cylinder #1 picture of piston #2. Not sure how to post pictures. So bare with me.

Did you happen to take a compression test before you tore it down? Just wondering what it was.

Looking at the picture that head needs some attention!. The intake valve is sunk in the head way too far and the exhaust valve and seat need to be replaced! You have a phone number or e-mail address. J.

Forgot to mention that I took several compression test. Cylinder #2 was highest at 172. lowest was 157.

Did you have to add antifreeze every now and then?
