The clutch on my 1755 has started giving me trouble - it doesn't like to fully disengage, especially when it's hot. You can get it into gear, but it does a lot of grinding. I've taken most of the free play out of the pedal. Any other thoughs, besides a new clutch? I figure to take it apart, hopefully after hay season

Sounds like throw out bearing going bad and may be wearing out the three fingers that disengage the clutch.you should be able to remove the small inspection plate to tell.

Not disengaging as in the tractor wont stop? My 1855 didn"t want to go into gear when it was hot it turned out to be the pilot bearing.

Had that happen a few times. Sounds like what the guys said below. For a long time White and then Agco sold the sealed non-greasable throw out bearings.
A few years I was getting some parts at our John Deere dealer. Ordered a throwout bearing thru A&I and it was pretty cheap. When it came it was heavy regreasable bearing like they used to use. I have been putting grease hose from throwout holder out thru the bellhousing. And now it is like old times grease it once in a while and don't worry about. The most amazing thing is that style bearing is MADE IN USA now.
