Be Ge Conversions, Gilroy Ca

Back in May, I made the post below about a MM RTI we recently aquired, and I was told to ask over here about it, as Oliver bought out Be Ge.

So, anyone ever see anything like it on an Oliver?

Some sort of chain drive to move the rear end back, plus what we think might be a set of Hyd motors that would also chain drive the rear end. Not really sure, prehaps if anyone has seen something similar on an Oliver they can better explain how it works?

I would bet a paycheck that it had a chain trencher on the back at one point. It would have hung on the mounting clevises that are on the rear of the machine. Then the hydraulic motors were chained up to the large sprockets on the rear wheels so that they could move the tractor slow enough for the trencher to keep up, and also most likely provide a variable speed while working. That would also explain the blade on the front which would have been used for backfilling the trench. Unfortunately I cant help you on any model or history because as far as I know BE-GE was best known for its pan-scrapers and land-levelers.
