I bought a 1555 gas today and need to know what the first 1555 serial # is. What I have found says the first one was in 1969 serial# 218025, Is this true or were there some built before this number? Could you guys let me know please. Bandit

my book says 218 128 was first 1555.my personal thinking is that I have never seen a 55 series below a 220 xxx number. any 218 xx number that I know of is a 50 series.

The guys that I have talked with say the same you have that anything below 220 were sold as 1550s. This one is a prime example of why some people should not own tractors. I bought this one as a parts tractor as I am not sure it will run again. I will post pictures later on to show its condition. Thanks for the information. Bandit

I'd have to go out and look to see what my 1550 is,but it has the 3 piece side panels, and when I needed a shift rail for it a few years ago I had to get one out of a 1555. The part number for the bulk of the 1550s was different for that part.

That's the very one! I do like Olivers and tend to watch for them for sale, No matter the condition. Sometimes theses a diamond in the rough to be found. I don't think this is one. Bandit

Would you be offended if I asked what you had to pay for it? Being in SW Ohio, I called on it the very first day it was listed on Craigslist. I believe I was the first caller even. The seller was at $2k at that point in time...

email sent. Been wanting to talk to you anyway about some other old time stories from your area. (details in the email).
