2-105 Reliability

What is a good rule of thumb on hours for a 2-105 Perkins Diesel before possible engine work? Are the trans/hydraulics/rear-ends strong? He had it turned up to 120 hp when he had the injection pump rebuilt, but it has had very little use since then. Will the rear-end take that long term? Any major concerns and are all parts still readily available? Looking at a nice one that an older neighbor has, he farmed less than 100 acres part time, and it has extremely low hours, 2100 original. Only concern is no dealers nearby and a White is fairly rare around here.

loke vernon in ks said get it before its gone. its the marriage of a turbo charged 1850 front with a 55 series rear, can't lose with that. also my dad has a turbo charged 1850 and as far as i know it still has original rods and pistons, and this is a 67' model.

Grab that sucker and don't look back! The 55/105 drive trains will handle 120 hp without any problems. The Perkins was a good motor also. White sold a pile of those 105's. A lot of the parts between the 55 and 105 series were interchangable and a lot of the stuff is availible new yet. Dealers who ship parts about anywhere are easy to find.

Last one like that I saw sell around here had something along the line of 2600 hours and brought $16500.
