Oliver 1650 Diesel (IDI) Pump Removal Timing

I have a 1650 diesel with the old energy cell IDI system. The pump needs rebuilt and we are preparing to remove it. We want to line all the timing marks up before we remove it. I have removed the inspection cover on the front gear case and the one on the bottom in front of the flywheel. My first question is where in the timing pointer on the flywheel housing to align the flywheel marks with? And what is the procedure for lining this engine up before we remove the pump.
Thanks,
Mike

Remove the two screw timing cover on the pump and turn the engine to line up the marks inside, then check the flywheel mark per the manual spec. Adjust as needed when you go back together.

Since you already have the lower plate off of the bell housing turn the engine till you find TDC. They were equipped with a "timing tape" marked in degrees. Clean that good! Your pointer is on the front side of the flywheel and can been seen when the inspection cover is removed on the right side od the engine. You need to remove 1 5/16 inch cap screw and then remove the cover. The pointer will be visible then The TDC mark will also be visible.
