Took the pump off today. Boy was that a job. Two of the three nuts that have to come off to remove the pump were easy. The third tool me an hour. Had to make a wrench-you just can't get anything on it-at least that I own. Injector shop confirmed what diesel tech indicated was the problem. Made it sound like no big deal and a very common problem. So I was hopeful for a low cost repair. Current estimate is $575 to $600. They will let me know when they get into it. Said I would have it back in 3 or 4 days so I can't complain about that. I do think its going to be tough getting it back in also. Again thanks for all the comments and assistance. Hopefully this solves the fuel problem and I can worry about the low oil pressure and the hydraulic leak.
