2-135 hydraulics with one way cylinder

usually I use my 4020 with my disc mower but this weekend since it was to be warm I used the "new to me" white 2-135. everything hooked up well and off to the field I went. usually on the ends of the field I don't raise the mower but at one point I did and the mower would not go back down, the one way cylinder would not that is. I messed with the lever and the 3 point up and down and finally it went. thought that was weird. mowed the rest of the field with it down. got done went home, had the mower in the raise position, and again, the bar would not come back down. I used the tractor to plant with on my little 4 row planter with a double cylinder and all was well. I noticed when it was all the way up or down with the planter you could hear a little squeal from the hydraulics and I could hear the same thing with the disc mower when I went to lower the bar. it was like the oil would not return from the cylinder. it has three remotes. has to be something with the tractor, like you can't use a one way cylinder, but that makes no sense.
thoughts?

Unless one of your valves is a float valve there is no way to run float on the detent valve. You can hold the lever down to let the machine go down but once it is down the remote will squeal like you said. It should let the machine down as long as you hook it so pushing the lever forward lowers it. If you have a float valve you can tell by the back of the valve since it will look different then the other two. Also a float valve will only detent in the float position. You can sometimes find these valves at a salvage yard as they were an option on the Olivers and Whites.
