1755 Over/Under

I picked up a used over/under for my 1755, but it
appears different than the one that's in it. It
came out of another 1755. Did they make multiple
over under's for that model?
The tractor mod #is 575-22165 ser# 22656-676, and
the O/U has the number 166611A cast into the right
side
Is there any way to tell if this unit will work in
that tractor?
Thanks
Pete

What differences are you referring to?

Not sure if they put 2-speed hydra power units in the 1755, but it's possible that the one you bought is a hydra. If there is no round cover on the back, it would be the two speed.

I think Kell is on to something. At this point,
the model and serial number do not mean much. At leaat a few guys have replaced two speeds with three speeds. And, the other way around if they did not want to spend much money.
In addition to what has been suggested, I would check if when shifting there are 3 shifting points on the shifting lever.
It would be good if you are able to post a picture. It might be a disappointment if it is a reverse-o-torque. But, if it is they bring a good buck.

What got me wondering was that the dipstick on the old one is in rough shape, so I figured i would swap them. The new one is quite a bit longer - it actually bottoms out before it goes all the way in. I tried to measure the units themselves, and they seem to be the same dimensionally.
Also, I checked the shift lever, and it does have three positions
I'll take some pictures tomorrow and post them
Thanks
Pete

The 1755 O/U used two different dipstick arrangements. One had the dipstick go straight up and down on the O/U with a 3/8 solid stick. The other went into the O/U at an angle and used a thin flat stick

2 Stroke,
I think your right on the dipstick. The old one is at an angle, and the new one is verticle.
I've attached some pictures
Thanks
Pete

The new(er) one is in your tractor. The original O/Us had the shorter, vertical stick.

The one you bought will work though. (if it works!)
