I'm about ready to start baling some hay-if this weather will ever shape up...
Oliver 1550 diesel is still giving me some trouble. Runs fine for whatever time and then all of a sudden the rpm will start to drop off. No matter what you do with the throttle it continues to decline and will in short order stop running. You can almost immediately restart it and it runs fine with good throttle response. Some have suggested that there is something blocking discharge at the tank. Well it has an electric fuel pump and with the key turned on the pump runs. So when it dies the pump continues to have power to it--so it does not relieve the suction from the tank. I think that means if something were to be blocking the discharge it would remain in place. I stuck on this running good, then quits, then restarts immediately and runs fine. May not do it again for several hours or might do it in just a few minutes. Going to be frustrating to bale with this thing, let alone pulling the baler down the road to get to some of my fields. Still looking for other possibilities---what do you think?
