1850 underdrive fluid

I am trying to finish putting together the 1850 I recently purchased. The operators manual recommends type A automatic transmission fluid for the underdrive. What is the best fluid for it? Also what is the best hyd fluid for this tractor? Thanks in advance for any help/advice. I am really beginning to like the way this old fella is made.

Dexron is the preferred choice in those Lee. I went to Dex/Merc combo with real good luck. In fact,the Dex/Merc fixed the one in my 1600 that had never worked right.
The hydraulic oil,if you're going to share cylinders with your Deeres so the oils will mix,I'd just use Hyguard type,same as you use in those. That's what I run in all of mine.

I actually ended up with 2 of the end plugs but I don't have the little sheet metal cap that goes on the outside. I keep finding little things like that missing. We will keep pluging along till we get it!
