engine oil for a 77

Next week I go on a 3 day tractor ride in Iowa I am taking my 77 gas. It needs an oil change just wondering what some of you think is the best weight to use?

I might run 15 40 rotella T

I've been running 15w40 rotella T in everything I own for number of years and no problems past couple years I switched a few things to Mystik syn-blend 15w40 cause I could get it for $25 a 5 gal pail after rebate and still no problems
