JD 160 5 speed transmission

I need to buy a Peerless transmission or would buy a used mower with a bad motor. I just can't afford a new 1 from Ebay. Is there a lawn mower salvage place in central Iowa?

It will not shift into any gear. I understand there are some small clips inside that wear out causing this problem. With the nerve damage in my arms and hands, I cant replace small things like that. But I can replace the tranny. Cant afford a 600.00 new 1.

Years ago I had a Cub Cadet with that trans and it was a "2 finger" trans. Had it repaired once under warranty and it wore out again. I found out there were "4 finger" parts that could be installed and that fixed the problem.
