(quoted from post at 01:59:05 05/21/14) The US retail sales in 1973 for 1465 tractors was only 81. There was only 1399 total Oliver Fiat models sold in 1973. I don't have any figures for 1974 or 1975.
(quoted from post at 16:58:13 05/20/14) My book says 12,304. --- John
(quoted from post at 17:30:01 05/20/14) As in Fiat or as in Oliver? I think you have one too many numbers for the number of Oliver & Cockshutt.

liff,It's actually all fiat parts.I'm sure you know but that is a fiat tractor made for oliver. import tractor parts has lots of good info on them.Just be glad you didn't get a 1450!(quoted from post at 03:10:58 05/21/14)(quoted from post at 17:30:01 05/20/14) As in Fiat or as in Oliver? Mostly Fiat parts for sure but definitely an Oliver 1465.
Have any idea why this model wasn't a good seller? Is it a poorly designed model? I have 2 John Deere tractors but I have never owned an Oliver and I really don't know much about them.

I thought it was all Fiat parts until a few people told me while I was shopping for parts that some parts are not Fiat. I suspect that Fiat used a few other parts when they built the tractor. I am learning as I go about Oliver tractors. I ended up with this model without doing much research in advance so I have been lucky to find all the parts. This tractor will have lots of new parts from top to bottom so I hope it will be worth what I have in it. I bought it to use but knowing that I can get what I have in it would be nice.
(quoted from post at 17:55:59 05/21/14) Go to this site. You'll see that they're basically an "improved" 1450. Not near as popular or as good a tractor as a 1265 or 1365. I hope you don't hold this thing against Oliver.

(quoted from post at 02:46:22 05/22/14) You can not look at the serial number range on Oliver's and just subtract as this will give you an incorrect number. They used the serial numbers across all models as they were assigned. This is a common mistake made in that people look at the first one made for the year and the first one for the next and assume that they can just subtract these when they can not do this. To get a true number you have to go through all the build cards.
I'm still quite puzzled to the it's not all fiat thing. No tractor is completely all manufacturer parts, many tractors run different, not fiat, injection,hydraulic,P.S. pumps, etc.I don't think you got the point that it is a fiat tractor regardless of what other parts it may have on it!FAIR tractors and MOST parts available(partial quote from I.T.P.). All problems solved with any tractor are rare, if non existent.Good luck with your 1465. I like them but, they are not a world beater by no means.1365 much better, not trying to beat you up just the facts.(quoted from post at 16:34:11 05/22/14)(quoted from post at 17:55:59 05/21/14) Go to this site. Yes, but a substantially improved 1450 with more horsepower. The 1465 now has a very reliable engine. All of the problems with the 1450 were solved with the 1465. What makes the 1265 or the 1365 better?
