american bosch psb pump questions.

Finally got my cockshutt 570 home which is getting diesel in the crank case. First of all, how do I check to make sure the plunger in the pump isn't stuck. I've had a couple people warn me about it (been sitting 4 years) and even one nice gentleman explain it to me on the phone, but I couldn't look at it while being explined and can't recall exactly what to do. The second thing is in reference to the fuel in the oil. Is it as simple as pulling the lift pump off by removing a couple bolts and replacing the seal on the back side? The parts book or manual doesn't show a breakdown of the pump and I'd like to know what I'm getting into. Lastly, if it's not the lift pump seal causing this, I'd assume the issue is above me, so where would you fellas recommend I take or send this pump to. I live half way between grand rapids and Lansing in michigan.

I think if it were me, I'd hook up a electric fuel pump, bypass the lift pump and see if you still get fuel in the crankcase. Then go from there.
If you do need the injection pump rebuilt there is a place South of Grand Rapids at 142 exit that I heard was good with pumps and reasonable. I have been to Injection Service in Grand Rapids, good but pricey.

He has a Cockshutt not an Oliver, no lift pump. Most likely the seal in the end of his transfer pump is bad. He does not need to take the injection pump off to repair it.
