Hey guys I'm a MM guy, but what is the rarity of a FWA Oliver tractor, I'm pretty sure it's a 1650. Also I'm not sure if it's a factory front end, but it is fwa. Is the worth anything, does it have a value? To collectors?

Thanks
Joe

They are not common but they would have to be in excellent shape along with certifiable low hours to command over 10 to 12 thousand dollars. They are not quite on the level of a 1972 JD 4020D Powershift or 72 JD 2520 Powershift as far as big money goes. Or an IH 1456 Gold Demonstrator. That being said the 1650 is a good tractor and unless you are totally money driven on this I would just go get the 1650 if it were me. My 2 cents.

well oliver FWA always get looked at when they go to tractor shows. MFWA olivers are not really on the rare or hard to find colomn but when they are up for sale the prices skyrocket so you are going to spend quite a bit of money for one. from what i hear these clark front axles are pretty good which is why alot of fwa olivers are still in the fields. now the fact that this is a 1650 FWA means there are not very many of them and the price will likely be high. also like all tractors not everyone finds these desirable so to some they are not valuable and to others they are. however to me i love the oliver FWA look, i plan to collect oliver FWA and crawlers.

Is it a mechanical FWA or hydraulic FWA? I have experience with neither, but from what i have read, the hydraulic FWA is not very useful, more for showing the tractor than using it. I am sure others with more expertise will chime in.

As said below, if it's the hydrualic assit unit, they left a lot to be desired. The only reason Oliver ever put the stupid hydraulic unit on their tractors is to have something to compete with the JD units. Not the smartest decision they ever made. Now if it has the Clark mechanical 4WD unit the 1650 was about the finest 70 HP 4WD ever made. I'd buy it fix whatever needed to be fixed and use it. With the tires loaded, a set of rear wheel weights and a couple of front end weights you have a 12,000 lb. plus tractor.
