D3 Co-op D-3 - How many were made?

They're E-3's, not D-3's- they are just Cockshutt tractors painted orange, for sale in the U.S. through the farm co-ops in the 40's and 50's. No one ever kept track of how many Cockshutts were sold as E's (there were also E-4's and E-5's, which were Cockshutt 40's and 50's, respectively). They did not have different serial number series.

Thank you for the info. The serial #stamp says D-3-183 so we think it it the 183rd one made of the D-3's if that is any help. I have picture of this model and serial stamped into the tractor.

Traditional Farmer brought up "a whole 'nuther thing"- the old Co-op tractors before the Cockshutt variety. Click on Tractor Photos on the left, then search co-op (be sure to put in the dash), and look at the #3's and #2's there- does yours look like any of those? As Traditional said , there was a B series, and maybe a C, but I'm not sure they went to D.

YES VIRGINIA there are D-3's and I hope someone gets you the proper information on it.

They were built and sold in the late 1940's (after the war) but before the E-5's were available.

they are a more styled version of the old #3 and from there I dont exactly know where production was at.. or where most were sold to.
