Are all the Gas oliver starters the same

Are all the gas starter 66-88 770, 880, and 1850 gas starter interchangeable? for a 12 volt system. I making an assumption they all have the same teeth count, same rotation, and the same throw? if not if someone could correct me, Thanks

I'm gonna hazard a guess that they'll interchange. The difference for sure though would be that some had a solenoid and some didn't.

when I first got my 1800 gas I was having issues with getting it to run and the starter was cranking it kinda slow so I swapped it with the starter from my 880 diesel and it was same thing, starter on my 77 gas looks same as well just without solenoid

An 880 diesel starter will not work on a Super. The drive has a different number of teeth on the drive.
