Hello again . Didn't work on the tractor yesterday but will today. Pto shaft is less than an inch from bolting up the bearing flange and its hitting something . Do I take the deck off to inspect ? Grasping at straws here. Thanks.

Should not need to take the deck off. just read the earlier posts and do as suggested and it should go in. Did you take the pto main housing off the rear end housing? Tell us what all you removed to do this rebuild. Chuck

I took off the pto guard and housing , unbolted the
flange that holds the pto clutch in and pulled the
shaft.

Are you sure you put the shaft in the hydraulic pump correctly? When you say PTO housing, do you mean the cover over the clutch or do you mean the gearbox that is held on with the 4-1/2 inch cap screws?

Update on the 770 , all back together and remotes working . Don't know what I did different this morning but the shaft slid in . Thanks again to everyone for the help . This is a great site.

That's all it takes, just sleep on it.
