Hauling Oliver 525 combine on gooseneck questions.

I am going to pick up A oliver 525 combine this weekend in central Wisconsin and I was wondering how tall I will be with the combine on the trailer. The combine has semi tires on it so it will be just a bit lower than standard height. The gooseneck deck is about 3 feet up. I have to haul it 160 miles through small towns and was wondering if it would be near 13' 6". TIA

Before I put the rice and cane tires on my 525 it was about 11'6" with 14.9-26s on it. Dad and I looked at how we could haul it on our goosneck and the only way we figured we could do it was to take the tires completely off of it and set it right down on the trailer deck. Mine also has the cab and bin extensions to so if you dont have either one of those you are going to be a little shorter to begin with.

FYI: When they were new we received some by rail and some on low flatbed trucks. The ones that came by truck never had the drive tires on them. You had to raise them up and then put the wheels on them.

If it runs well why don't you just grease it up and drive it home? 2 day trip without pushing it hard. Otherwise, I'm sure you are going to have to remove the wheels.

We hauled a 535 with cab and bin extension 100 miles from Illinois to Indiana on a two foot high trailer without taking the tires off and got along fine.
