Cockshutt 20 Deluxe

What is the difference between a Cockshutt 20 & a 20 Deluxe ? I know the 20 is red & the Deluxe is tan sheet metal, & red .

20's were built from 1952 thru 1955. Deluxe's were built 1956 thru 1958. Not sure of the exact break but the Deluxe replaced the Red 20.

in mid 55 the changed the serial numbers starting with a 14 which means production changed and they started putting the round tube wide front instead of the square axle they did make a few red 20's in 56 before the deluxe 20's were introduced. the deluxe's had a fancy c steering wheel cap the steering column has a extra knuckle in it giving the operator more room. they moved the step from the floor pan to frame mounted and the exhaust came out the bottom.

And most of the deluxe 20 s had 28 in. Tires on back.

Also the Deluxe 20 had a 17 inch steering wheel and red 20 had a 15 inch steering wheel.The red 20 had a straight gear shift in the center.The deluxe 20 had the gear shift made longer with a bend in it to the right.This made it easir to get on the tractor.There was also a two piece wishbone brace from the steering coloum to the gas tank on the deluxe 20.Some of the first 1956 deluxe 20's did not have this brace.
