took the 1550 out today

At last got the 1550 out. It started with a touch of the key and no choke, ran great. I drove it down the lane between fields to the bottom of the hill and back up in 4th. When I got back to the shed I noticed water coming off the front end. Water pump leaking bad. Also noticed the end of the steering gear where the line connects moves up and down before the tie rods move. Is it supposed to float or should it be a solid mount in the pan?
On the plus side, three point seems to work right, HP works and power steering feels OK. Where's a good source for the water pump?

There's an arm that goes in a hole in the tub that bolts to the steering cylinder to steady it.

I've always gotten kits from Agco and rebuilt those water pumps. It's probably running out the hole in the bottom of the casting where the shaft goes isn't it?

I'll have to look for that arm. The end of the steering gear rises about half an inch before the tie rods move. The leaky pump scared me for a minute till I saw the weep hole. I thought something was cracked. It sat through the three polar vortex events. I had drained it but there was still about a gallon in the block with just a little anti-freeze. The back end of the block is plugged with dark green sludge and only a drop seeps out. I put a 45 deg street el and nipple to get past the oil filter. I'll put a hose on to flush it tomorrow. I'm still not sure if this was a good buy just yet.
