I dont think so, I worked on a super 55 for a
customer a year ago and the cross shaft was rust
pitted so I machined a new shaft and I believe I was
only able to install one seal on each side. other
questions can be directed to my email.

No the recess is only deep enough for one seal. I would take out the old shaft and have a new one made. It's only a straight shaft with a couple of key ways. Shouldn't cost much to replace. I got lucky. When I took mine out, a friend who is a machinist had a bar of stainless and made one for me. Will never wear out!

Super 55, My shaft is nice and smooth so I bought new seals from a different source to try. The seals I put in last spring never leaked a drop until it got cold. Thanks , Chuck

mr.precision, I got the seals from Chavin Equipment Corp. near Nassau N.Y. 518-522-9307. Good to deal with and ships promptly. Chuck

A while ago a guy indicated he had a leaking seal also and the shaft was slightly scored. He indicated that he put the seal in backwards which then caused it to ride in a different place on the shaft. Since there is no pressure (at least I don't think there is) it might work. A bit unconventional but hey if it works it works.
