trying to remove the power shaft ,it comes out just so far and stops solid. I tried turning ever so slightly and pulling only by hand. I tried turning the pto at the same time nothing. It slides in and out about 6 inches good but dead stop PLEASE MORE INFO

You have to line up a set of splines as you pull it out. Keep turning and wiggling. It shouldn't be too hard to get it out.

As Jake says, it is just a matter of lining the splines up. Turn your shaft just a fraction of an inch at a time. Do it be feel more than by sight. Sooner or later you will line them up and the thing will slide out.

You have 2 sets of splines that need to be lined up. You have the first one but not the second set. Some people put an impac wrench on the bolt you are using as a tool and then pull back on the bolt while you are trying to remove the shaft. If that does not work, release the PTO clutch so that it is not engaged or the PTO brake is on and turn the lower PTO shaft with a pipe wrench while pulling back on the long PTO shaft.

I like the impact wrench method. Have taken out quite a few drive shafts using this method which was posted here a few years ago. It seems if the tractor has done a lot of pto work the shaft gets twisted a little. Lining up the splines by hand can be quite time consuming.
