I have the pto all back together. Seems to snap in ok but with not quite as much pressure as I think it should have. To add pressure I'd need to remove shims? It didn't have any other than a chunk about 1/4" thick. So if I need to remove I'd have to either take these down a bit or make some that are thinner. Or am I thinking wrong on this and need to add shims? I have not tried to run anything with it yet. Hope to get oil back in it today.

I think you'll find that chunk, will be a stack of shims, like John said. I'm not sure on your model but, I think it'll be about 35 pounds of pull on the lever. I use a fish scale to measure it.

This one must have had some work done on it before. There are thin shims, just pieces about 1/4" thick. So it sounds like I either have to get a bunch of shims or take down the pieces I have some. It seems the worst part is putting the cover back on to check and see what you have. If you need to adjust, off it comes again. Hope I hit it right in the next couple of tries.

Those shim packs are brass and they should peel apart. More questions? Also is your PTO handle on the right or left side? Tension is different, You have a phone number/

Im out of town for the next week or so. PTO handle is on the right side. Definately don't have a "shim pack" at this time. Solid chucks of steel.

I just put new disc in my 1600, couldn't get it to work with the old shims so I bought a new shim kit from AGCO. The IT repair manual said it was best to put new shims in. I tried the old shims and the clutch would not work,to tight. Also the shims need to be pointed the correct direction. The long lobe of the shim should be pointed counter clock wise. I put the new shims in and it worked perfectly. There are 20 shims to each set.
