Cockshutt 30 with magneto???

Havent heard of any such thing because they have a regular spot in the block for a distributor shaft and not an sae mount for a mag or adapter from mag to distributor like an oliver 70 etc. Duane o.

Yes, I know my tractor has a mounting hole in the side of the block for a distributor. That is elementary my dear Watson. What I was asking was if anyone has replaced it with a magneto/distributor used on race cars or motorcycles or even a pulley ran magneto drive.

I suppose you could install a mag if you wanted to and had the machine work skills to make up one. But why i dont know. Get a electronic ignition kit for it if for some reason the points didtributor doesnt work. The engine only revs to 1500 rpm stock anyhow. You will spend more on the mag invention than the tractor is worth. Just my thoughts. Duane o.

I'm pretty sure the Cockshutts only ever used distributors. Budas were equipped with mags in other applications. Use these links to download a Buda manual. It should show both setups.
