1855D Gutless

One of my 1855 diesels acts very anemic this spring. No guts. Seems to run all right. Has been running enough to keep filters clean. I had it on the grain vac and it was OK but going down the road it hardly pulls a hill in 6 over. Any ideas?

When's the last time you changed the fuel filter? Sounds exactly like what our 1855 was doing one year. It'd rev just fine, but put a load on it and it just didn't have any power, and would slow down. New filter put it back in business with great power.

I"d check fuel and air filters first. When the fuel filters off maybe check to make sure you have good flow, no restriction in the valve at the bottom of the tank.

Reading your other post made me think of this- our Massey 285 will sometimes have the fuel shutoff cable pull out a little bit while running and it'll run very weak until you figure it out.

More than once I was gonna do a quick fuel filter change when I look down to see the shutoff pulled 1/2 way out.
