Got the parts from AGCO, ordered the two disc and new throw out bearing. and was able to get the three little springs. I ordered the aftermarket disc. took apart the clutch, no real problems there. I don't believe it has ever been apart before and is the original clutch. Got it apart and the splines on my shaft looked pretty good, the old disc were pretty worn, one disc seemed to have more wear as it had a small part of the disc gone. Seems to me the snout were the throw out bearing moves has a lot of wear as you can see where the bearing rides. I took some emory cloth/sand paper and cleaned the metal disc off. There also seems to be a wear on the front cover where the levers on the pressure plate have grooved the inside of the front cover, is this normal? I decided I would put it back together. put all the shims back as when it came apart but now the clutch is two tight when you snug the front cover down, there doesn't seem to be any room for the throw out bearing to travel to engage the clutch. when I back the bolts off the front cover I can then get the bearing to move and to engage but it would seem that I would almost need double or triple amount of shims and longer bolts to get this to work is this normal? There are about 20 shims to each side of the plate. I believe I would need add about 60 shims to each side to get it to work right. I tried to mark everything to make sure it went back together the way it came apart. I believe I have everything in the correct order, I really believe I need to go back and order a new pressure plate because of the wear on the snout where the throw out bearing rides and wear on the levers on the inside cover. I think I will also the new plates for the front cover because of the way they are grooved from the levers riding against it. Also order or make some more shims. Has anyone else come up with these same problems? or is there something I am doing wrong or missing here?
