Wife wants her own tractor, but it has to be "curvy". She says my Super 55 is hard to get on, so she wants something along the same line size wise, but easier to get off and on. She likes 8Ns, but this will be mainly a mowing tractor and the PTO on a N scares me with her operating it with a bushhog. My question is: How big are the standards in either 66, 77, or 88? Either Fleetline or Super. Also, were they ever equipped with a 3 point? If I am going to have another tractor around, it may as well be useful, and I just don't see that in an N.

8N etc have a shift lever right in the way to get your leg through , so how can it be easier than a S55 without that lever there to get on and off? Sounds like she just wants something a little different than what "you" have. The rest of what you mentioned are not what I call useful for what you want to do. S55/550 are hard to beat. Massey 135 would be next choice if she can stand not being green.

how about a ford 3000 or a cockshutt 540.the 8n would do fine if you just put a over-running clutch on the pto, that way you wouldn't have to worry about her running in to something.

I would look for a rowcrop 66,77, or 88. The axle housings are shorter on a standard and there is not as much room between the seat and fender as you climb on.

Find her a Row Crop 66. They are user friendly. Easy to drive and get on and off. Some had factory three points, most don't.

buy her an 8n and you will have something to work on every time she goes to use it. Do yourself and her a favor, if she wants a ford, find a 3000su or 4000Su. Both of you will be a lot happier.

IH 574 and Deere 2020 utility tractors are easy to get on and off of. Does she prefer a rowcrop tractor with a flat platform instead?

She is only concerned with the style. She doesn't want bigger than my S55. That's why I was thinking standard, smaller tires and narrower but with a flat platform. She really hates the seat setup on mine. In her defense, it does spring up close to the steering wheel.

This 500 that I bought isn't terrible. Has two shifts in the center, but that's all. The Fiat built 1365 is OK as long as the parking brake isn't set. I don't know how the 1255 and 1265 are.
