Generator/power steering pump

Several years ago I was at a Canning Company
auction, and bought several Delco Generators
with VICKERS power steering pumps on the back.
They were off Pea Pickers.
The generators were modified to have a female
tang slot on the rear. One automotive electric
shop said that such a generator was no longer
available. Another,(where I do my business now)
showed me in a catalog, where he could still get
an armature shaft, and, with the correct rear
cover, it was just a "Plain Chevrolet generator"
I was also told that the first Corvettes, with the
six cylinder engines, also had that type of
power steering pump set up.
I have since found, in a junkyard, a Prestolite
generator, from a Desoto, with an Eaton power
steering pump. I don't have anything for sale.
I bought mine so as to put power steering on a
CJ-5 Jeep, and a Jeep pickup. There are venders
whom advertise in "Hemmings Motor News" the
antique autos and parts magazine, for parts and
repairs for most any make of power steering pump.
Vickers is still around, though now a part of Dana
corp, and I've got parts books on their power
steering pumps, including the male tang shaft
model that fits on the back of the Pea Viner
generator, I assume parts may be still available.

Vickers is part of Eaton, not Dana they got out of the hydraulic business when they let guys like me go. Also a Delco automotive generator is longer than a Delco generator for a tractor.
